Don says he's happy will his iron play but his driver is giving him fits. Apparently, he can get the ball down the fairway but he's overloaded with "Duck Hooks" off the tee. Well, Don, what's the first thing you're going to check?
That's right, alignment! You may be aiming to the right. Remember, the driver is the longest club in the bag. If you are, your backswing is actually in the Sacred Burial Ground. You see you're going right so you get your body out of the way and probably, as you thought, you have a weight shift problem. We call it a reverse weight shift, where you're actually "falling" on your back leg. At impact you've already turned too far. Plus you're probably over-releasing.
Of course, this all may be magnified if your driver is too long. I'd get that checked out, too.
Don, you don't have to live with "Duck Hooks." I'm sure if you check out these swing keys they'll be a thing of the past.
