Golfer Has Success With PPGS After Surgery Causes Long Layoff

Sat, 03/15/2014 - 14:00 -- Don Trahan

With The Masters less than a month away, it means the 2014 golf season will soon be in full swing for many Surgites who live in colder regions. That means a lot of you will be playing golf for the first time in a while. Luckily, the Peak Performance Golf Swing is easy to repeat, even if you haven't picked up a club all winter.

Randy Wolf sent in a nice testimonial that speaks to this point. Randy's layoff was due to surgery, which is even more impressive after you read his statements. Randy came back after 8 weeks without playing golf and preceded to shoot a very respectable 76. His comments highlight how simple and body friendly the PPGS can be if you commit to it and believe that a vertical swing is better than a rotational swing.

Surge,

Just a quick e-mail that I hope you and other members of the Surge nation might find helpful. I was unable to play golf let alone swing a club or practice for over 8 weeks due to a surgery that I had. It was not related to my back, shoulder, knee or arms. It was surgery for an internal issue for a man my age. Anyway, to keep the story short, I went out and played yesterday for the first time in 8 weeks. I concentrated on my set-up and alignment and with nothing but a simple swing thought, which was to swing easy. I hit it straight from tee to green in most cases. I was not as long with my shots so I did take an extra club on numerous occasions. The results were 37-39 = 76. I was amazed, but soon came to realize that the PPGS vertical ¾ swing that I learned over 5 years ago SIMPLY WORKS even after a lay-off of 8 weeks. Two other members in my group were dumbfounded at my ability to hit a golf ball that well after this long lay-off. The third member of the group knew exactly what was going on as he has heard me preach the virtues of your PPGS Swing for years. The other two members of our foursome both stated that they wanted a swing like mine for the New Year. I told them both to go to www.swingsurgeon.com and you will find exactly what you are looking for. They both wrote the website down on the back of the score cards before we left the 7 tee box.

In conclusion, what I am trying to convey here is that the PPGS Swing is simple and reliable. It was easy and painless for me to learn over 5 years ago. It is a simple and reliable swing to use for the golfer who plays 2 -3 times a week or the golfer who plays once a month. If your golf swing is simple it will be reliable and will still work even if you don't play as often as one may want to play. I had a rotational swing for over 30 years and if I didn't play for 8 weeks I would have been a mess my first couple of times back out on a golf course.

I look at my ball rack in my office and I keep a ball with a date on it when I break par. I can say that 80% of those sub-par rounds came after I started using the PPGS. Thank you again for all of the research and development that you put into this different approach to swinging a golf club.

It Works!!!!!

Best Regards,
Randy Wolf

I'd like to thank Randy for the kind words about the PPGS. For everyone else who may be preparing for their first round in a few months, remember your fundamentals and the parameters of the swing and you should have success too. You are more than capable of shooting a good score your first time out of the year.

Good luck and send me your stories!

Keep it vertical!

I fully understand being able to come back quickly with the PPGS after a long layoff. Due to left shoulder and right knee problems, I had not played a round of golf since July of 2013. Back in December, I managed to start practicing in my yard and the past 4 days, I played my first golf since July.

I'm on my last day of visiting my brother in Phoenix and I arranged a lesson with Stretch Condor last Friday before starting my golfing "adventures" with my 3 brothers. Overall, Stretch liked my setup and swing, but pointed out that I was not completing the 70* turn; I was probably only getting to about 50*. We spent most of the time working on that and discussing how it affected other parts of the swing. He also said it would take a while to get it ingrained.

Friday afternoon, I played my first 18 holes since July at San Marcos Golf Resort, shooting 52+51=103. I struggled quite a bit trying to get the full 70*. Saturday morning, we went to Arizona Traditions and everything came together. I shot a 44+46=90. On Sunday afternoon, I shot 45+50=95 at Arizona Traditions, with a 3-4 club wind on the back nine. Yesterday, I shot 47+46=93 at Cave Creek Golf Course.

In all 4 rounds of golf, I started hitting the ball much crisper and straighter due to Stretch's instruction. I feel that I can improve a lot over the summer and have fairly high expectation. Overall, I think I did pretty well, not having played in 8 months.

I strongly recommend that everyone get a lesson from Don or one of his PPGS instructors, if at all possible.

Keeping it vertical between Alabama and Arizona,
