Jordan Spieth Blossoming Into PGA Tour Star

Thu, 08/27/2015 - 14:00 -- Don Trahan

I shot this video after Jordan Spieth won the U.S. Open for his second major victory of the year. The golf world was abuzz with anticipation that Jordan could win all 4 major championships in the same year, something that has never been done.

Well, Jordan certainly gave it his best, finishing a stroke out of the playoff at St. Andrews and finishing second at the PGA Championship a few weeks later. With 4 victories already this year, Jordan has made a great case for PGA Player of the Year. It will be interesting to see what happens during the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

I just personally want to congratulate Jodan on one heck of a year. He is a gentleman first, which is what the game of golf is all about. The game is in good hands!

Keep it vertical!

I couldn't help but notice in a slo-mo of Jordan's swing that he is a VERTICAL swinger. -- Almost PPGS except for the stance - and maybe a wee bit in the SBG.
Incidentally, we had a "giggles" tournament recently at my home course == LARGE cups ( apprx 8" dia), best ball format for the members only. The head pro - tournament organizer was advertising it as "want to know how it feels to be Jordan Spieth? Come play the big cups!" - it was a fun day. But those who already have a "better than most" short game are at a disadvantage!

Keep hitting them STRAIGHT and LONG

As someone currently living in North Texas, I can tell you that folks here around his home town are pretty proud not only of his accomplishments, but of his demeanor on and off the golf course. He seems to have a good family and a lot of humility baked into him. That should serve him well in the tumultuous world he's going to find himself in over the next several years at least.
