Today's video is on a topic that seems to come up once every year or two. Bill Fraser wrote to tell me that he is adopting DJ's new stance where the forward foot is flared much more than the 30 degree minimum we recommend. He wanted to know if he's using this new stance whether he should now use his heel line to align himself parallel left instead of his toe line. (If you saw DJ's "revelation" during the first webcast of The Surge Show, you know that his new short game coach, James Sieckmann, has him flaring his forward foot 60-65 degrees. Deej really likes this and has made it part of his game now.)
Before I filmed this tip, I did some simple research to confirm what I knew all along: I covered this topic back in 2009 and again in 2010. However, since we weren't doing video tips back then, I think it's time we cover the subject again. But before you go view the video, I would remind everyone that if you want a question answered, your first move should be to search the blog archives using the key word search box in the middle of the right-hand column on the Daily Video page. In this case, enter "heel line" and click on the search icon. What you will find are the written posts on this subject that I've done before. They are full of great information so I won't reprise what I've already said on the subject here.
Keep it vertical!
