A tip based on golf schools over the last year, proper turn in the backswing. The Peak Performance Golf Swing is a "limited turn" golf swing; that does not mean no turn at all!
We have been finding students with not enough turn in their backswing and want to stress that the PPGS is a limited turn swing. You have to have a small amount of turn. The best way to measure the amount of turn you need is to use your toe line and feet position at address as reference points.
Never forget the Sacred Burial Ground! You can stand in it, but if you swing in it, you are dead. So watch the amount of turn you have in your backswing.

Good lesson.
Surge:
Thanks for the lesson. Have been struggling of late, especially with the amount of rotation of the arms back and through. I think I have been not lifting with both arms. Did OK Thursday but still not as consistent as I would like. Still hitting more good shots than bad though.
On a sad note I noticed that DJ had to withdraw after 6-7 holes in the Web.com Finals. Hope he is OK and can get back soon. I know he would get a sponsors exemption at one of the early events this fall as a past champion.
An update on his condition would be welcome.
Surge, Doc Griffin:
What is your opinion on low compression golf balls? I have tried the Wilson Duo, Callaway Supersoft, and the new Titleist Trusoft. I love the feel off all of the clubs, but distance control is becoming an issue with the irons. Used a Duo last night and airmailed several greens. I think I am going to go with something a little bit harder. Any comments appreciated.
As always thanks for you great site, looking forward to great golf this fall.
Good luck and play well Surgites,

DJ
I noticed that DJ is entered in this week's Web.com Finals tournament.
Hope he is good to go.
Played Monday morning, tried two things.
1. Tried to really slow my tempo down. Have been hitting from the top and not bumping.
2. Made sure I was flaring the feet, especially the front foot. I think I have been getting too much body movement.
Shot 79 (+8). Hit it much better. But was at Maple Lane which is a easy layout. Playing 36 holes tomorrow at Cherry Creek, much much tougher. Hoping the things I am working on will stick.
Play well Surgites - Surge hope all is well sir.

Update
Shot 83 - 88 at Cherry Creek. 1st round was best score of year outside of Maple Lane. Ball striking started slow but was really good for a 16-18 hole stretch, go tired near the end.
I noticed that DJ withdrew before starting today - must be injured. Hope for a speedy recovery.

Hi Don. I have recently become an instructor for the PPGS here in Australia and am having the same problem of not turning enough thus hit a lot of pulls and hooks. I think this is better than reinjuring past surgeries ask the Pros taking time off at present for back problems. I wonder how many of the touring professionals will be able to join the Senior tour in their later careers?
Staying vertical thanks.
Ask doc what he thinks of Pinhawk single length irons I found the shorter shafts make swinging vertical easier.
