Nice start for DJ, not so for his playing partner! For those like me who cant get the golf on the telly heres a link to the radio coverage.... http://radiotime.com/WebTuner....
PhilNZ and JackOz, not forgetting any other Aussies or Kiwis, have a memorable ANZAC Day on Monday. My golf mate [still serving] will attend the Dawn Service and then have a round of Golf at Burnham Camp south of Christchurch. Keep it Vertical, Long and straight Down Under.
I knew I was in trouble when I started talking to the monitor...lol.
Meant to tell you on my round yesterday, 18th hole 470 yd par4 dogleg that I never have reached even in my dreams I finally decided to just let it all hang out. I absolutely flushed my driver about 30 yards further than I've hit it so far. It scared the guy I was playing with who was 40-50 yards beyond me all day. Of course he was about 15 years younger and hit the ball a mile.
He hit a few long and wrong (rotational swing). Asked about how I managed to keep it in the fairway (12/14). I explained the Surge swing to him and he was interested. Wants to play next week so we shall see.
Good point. This guy is like having the guy who wrote the screenplay walking into the movie in the middle and then acting like he does not know which line comes next.
The funny part for me is that he thinks he is so very clever that we won't know any better.
Dick, Try Srixon Z-URs against Pro V1 and AD 333 against the e6 and see what you think. Have a good game against Dad and the crew! With big strong lads like you and Robert Thompson, I think a Pat on the back[ is dat not an Oirishman on the pillion of a motorcycle?], could be replaced effectively with the Haemlic manouevre ; - ) A real rib cracker.
Loved the video of DJ's interview, that is only the second video I have been able to watch on daily videos. Honoured. PS. If Anonymous can read this? It is just as well you are anonymous for bringing your comments on the Marine incident and Dick Lee. On the subject of bringing up, that is exactly what you and your ilk, want to make me do,throw up! Spent my life as a Medic, dedicated to helping folk like the young Marine, who you are not fit to lick dog dodoo's off his boot. Perhaps on reflection you are! Like to like. What does it feel like to bad mouth folk my fine faecalith? Is that how you get your jollies, because you can't play golf? Your perception of people, makes me think you were probably DICK'D [ appropriate term]by a well known snake oil salesman. Betcha voted for him too! I can't think of a nastier comment on this site. So why not take up a new hobby and leave genuine good people, only interested in improving their game, to get on with life? Suggestions for a new hobby, How about book burning in Kabul, or Drone baiting in Libya or Pakistan. I would not hesitate to defend the integrity and honour of Dick Lee and many others on this site. For folk like you I wouldn't pee on you if you were on fire! Now back to what counts for us here on SSGS,ie, GOLF The 'Stick 'em Up' cactus position is burned into my febrile brain for ever. And I can do it without pain! Yeeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaa! Good luck DJ [and Luke Donald of course]. Notice that today is St George's Day for all those from.......what is that country called? hahahaha
Thanks for your years of service. It can be a strange world my friend.
As you said, one minute the fools are trying to blow you up. The next, you are treating them for injuries from their own devices. I can't even count the number of times we were chasing, fighting, or in a shoot out with the bad guys, then minutes later we were working hard just to keep them alive until the medics could get there to take over from us.
All that having been said, I would not trade my life and what I have seen and done with anyone.
I think it was Ronald Reagan who said something to the effect of "Most people go through their whole life wondering if they have made a difference. Marines never have to wonder about that, they have made a difference."
I just did my part, and I am glad for guys like you who have done your part, and then some. Dick
I have got to admit sifting through the same drivel is starting to get tiresome and will drive people away if it continues and talk on the most part doesn't sort of stay on topic. I do like open forums which are not overly moderated like this blog, but maybe admin need to set some ground rules for the sake of this blog. See! I came here to catch up on the daily videos and have been distracted!
Good luck DJ and go get that No1 spot Luke D, oh or Lee Westwood.
