Along the way, there have been several questions on the blog wondering, if the Surge Swing is truly better, then why do all the professionals on the Tour, except DJ, use a rotational swing and go to parallel or more at the top of the backswing? Today I give you Part Three in my "Science Behind the Swing" series. (In case you missed them, click here for Part One or click here for Part Two).
Since we're getting new visitors to the site every day, I think it's time to review some of the fundamentals of the Surge Swing. Everything I teach is based on the laws of physics and physiology, the laws of the universe. If you break those laws in your swing, you have a greater opportunity for error.
The club is a tool and the body is a tool. If you use them correctly, that is, within the laws of physics and physiology, you'll play better golf and be less prone to injury. That's the whole premise of the Surge Swing.
I go into some detail about the scientific reasoning behind the swing. It's not just my words, but the word of experts in their field. I think this video will help everyone understand how the vertical, limited turn, ¾ backswing came into being and why.

Oh I understand very well
Oh I understand very well what the manual says. What we have is a terminology problem. If both of your arms were locked into a full upper body cast out in front of you, how far would you have to turn to get the club head to reach the toe line?
That's what many people are trying to do. Most of the ones that try this swing for a little while and just can't do it, and get chewed out on the blog for even mentioning manipulating the arms and are just told it is a one piece takeaway, go away and we never hear from them again.
In reality all they needed to do was to know that the arms are not locked in front of their chest and can roll towards the toe line as the body turns.
WanKI'm pleased for you that

This will serve as my after action report from the shoot out with dad and his posse. And, it was a shoot out. They are getting tired of what the Surge has done to my game. So we decided today would be a different kind of game. They played against me as a best ball team. I did not have my best game today. Not my best, but good enough. We ended up tied on the front, tied on the back, and tied for the round.
I would have liked to skin them, but I will settle for being tied against 3 guys playing best ball. We hit some balls on the range, then chipped a bit, then putted for 25 minutes prior to starting the round. I noticed that I was the only one who did any stretches prior to hitting balls on the range. I just laughed, but said nothing. Those old dogs just don't want to learn any new tricks.
While we were waiting to take the 1st tee, they suggested the best ball format for the three of them. They had apparently been talking and plotting amongst themselves. I told you I can't turn my back on those old men. Having no fear, and being supported by all of you and the Surge, I agreed to the rules of engagement.
After we all hit our drives on the 1st hole, I drove out to my ball. I look around and here they all came. They really thought they were all going to hit from my ball. I told them that was not the way it worked, as they were playing against me as a team. Sneaky little guys. They looked like 3 kids who had just had their candy taken away from them. We all had a blast today. The back and forth was great. It made for a very enjoyable round. We will definitely do it again. I love all the guys in dad's posse. We have signed up for a local "Friends of the library" best ball tourney in May. I am going to work hard at getting this swing down better before that.
So, who else got to play today, and how did it go?

You must be real proud of him. It takes a lot of work and dedication to go through all that schooling and work.

Hey Albert, if you are so
Hey Albert, if you are so impressed with the other site why come on this one? We on this site think the Surge Swing is the one for us, we don`t care about other swings. So dont waste your time or ours with unwelcome comments.
That's a great link.

One question I have is:
On the RSS feed can you get more than 25 new comments?

Athletic? people usually just say lankey, lol
I have a round tomorrow so Jack, keep away!
Albert,
Albert,
Paul Wilson seems like a very nice guy. That being said. my back absolutely hates his rotaional swing method. If you're trying to follow both methods you'll wind up confused somewhere in the twilight zone. You really need to pick one and stick with it, I did that almost a year ago and my back thanks me for it every day. I say a little "thank you" to Surge on the first tee every time I play. Good luck with whichever method you choose.
