Well, DJ did a darn good job Sunday, tying for 12th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational this past weekend. He took some time Saturday to sit down with me to give us a thoughtful review of his game and what he's looking for.
Every time I'm out here, I continue to admire DJ's spirit and confidence. He looks at his game honestly, talks about it honestly and goes out to try again.
DJ made an interesting comment about being creative, taking a chance, to get ahead. In this video he describes one hole were he almost made it possible. He remembered it with a smile.
Take a look and see what it was like at Bay Hill. Now it's on to Houston.

Go and start all your vehicles and leave them running over night. It will warm up your area and be good for the economy. Dad and I played several games during the winter when it was in the 40s. It was not bad unless the wind was up. It is great to be able to play without a jacket, gloves, and long johns.
The extra and different shots on the same hole really helped me work on things. I will do it again when I have the chance to do it without holding anyone up. The other good thing was I would hit a few shots then move to another location. It gave my body a chance to relax. I have to be careful with my back and shoulders when I go to the range. I have to force myself to take a few minutes off every once in a while.

I certainly wasn't referring
I certainly wasn't referring to you, Ray. The left column is actually a partial RSS feed from the comments sections, so it's just the most recent comments (with a few minute delay on the updates).
I think Don's point was simply that this is a site to talk about how to perform the Swing Surgeon Swing and we're pretty much all fans of DJ and Don. Some asides are fun, but having that one particular ego try to overwhelm the site gets very boring very quickly. Let's get back to helping each other play better, more pain-free golf (with occasional comments about food, hehehe).
I think Doc said he uses 50
I think Doc said he uses 50 gram shafts and the key is to have the correct total weight and swing weight so they feel and work best.
Thanks Ronnie
I'm working on getting back
I'm working on getting back down to where I can wear my shorts. Some of them are fitting now, and I was able to pull back out a lot of jeans that were in the "you can't suck your gut in that far" drawer. Still too many in there, though. ;-)

Sounds like you put away some great chow. One of these days we will have to put together "The Surge Nation Cook Book." We have people from all over the world on here. I bet we could take something from each region of the US and from all around the globe. I think that would be cool, not to mention tasty.
As to my game today. I could not get the mountain to come to me, so I just went to it. Rednecks can always figure out an answer to a problem. The question is whether we can figure out what the problem is.
I am going to do a post in a minute about the other crap.

I guess I should have known that piece of trivia. I can see why they think that.
Thanks Doc
