I'm a right handed golfer, so I always teach in terms of that side of the ball. I understand that there are a lot of left handed golfers in the Surge Nation as well, and I apologize if any of you have ever felt "left" out of the daily lessons.
That's what happened to Joe Pianecki. Joe's a left hander who says the daily videos are hard to follow since I'm right handed. One of the problems he's having is with alignment. So today, I'm going to clarify how to align yourself correctly from both sides of the ball!
Regardless of what side of the ball you play from, you must remember to remain parallel to your aiming line. That means that your feet, knees, hips, shoulders, and eyes must all be parallel to that line.
In the future, I'll do my best to speak from both points of view so that no one feels like they're being passed by.

Eyes adjust to left
From a right hander's view point I have to say that setting up sufficiently parallel left (that would be parallel right for lefties) has finally become nearly automatic through repetition. As Surge has explained many times when we turn sideways to our intended line we can feel visually too far left and are tempted to shuffle or dance more aligned right and end up too far right. I see this with many people I play with, particularly my brother and nephew. My brother can really hit the ball beautifully. He always aligns too far right. Some times just a little and often a lot (like 50 yards). If he pulls it he's fine and the ball can be down the middle but if he hits it straight it is straight into the far right never never land. The problem is that he insists on doing most of his alignment while already set up and not before hand from behind while picking an intermediate spot.
I do concur that Don's new UAV is one of his best lesson videos and can help even the most stubborn find the way to correct alignment through practice.
In most cases I know when I hit the ball before looking up that I have hit it on line or right of target or left of target by feel. I know in most cases it was not my alignment. If it feels pure and on line I will normally see the ball headed at my target. This was the case on Sunday morning on #17 and #18 at muni. On the 200 yard par 3 #17 I hit my 5 wood to 5 feet pin high and then on the second shot at the par 4 #18 hit my 7 iron from 145 to 3 feet. Had the right club and correct alignment. great combination when put together with a good PPGS swing. Now if I could just do that more often and then sink the putts.

Joe, a left hander recently complained that he was 'confused' because Don didn't speak to his ilk. By the way, one in 30 golfers is left handed. My take is that if the instructor is right handed, left handers should have the good sense to extrapolate the message. Here's a tip, our left foot is your right foot. Let's let Don spend his valuable time passing along his years of experience so we can enjoy the game more rather that apologizing to some one who doesn't know his right from his left. Or find a left handed instructor- good luck.

I do most things left handed and some things right handed. I have never had any problem whatsoever learning from somebody of the opposite hand or teaching somebody of the opposite hand.
Is there any common sense left out there?
There are bigger and more important fish to fry than to lap feed everybody.

Surge.............Keep up your good work. I've watched many of your videos over the last year and your instruction is very, very precise as far as I can see. If someone cannot relate to your clear instructions because they are a Lefty and you are a Righty........... without understanding what you mean, they have a big problem and probably don't understand your instructions anyway. Keep up the good work, you do great.............

I wan't aware that so many golfers are left handed.
It should be dificult to play the game get the right drivers and right training.
