Just a note to say hi to Jack and Don. Unique way to illustrate PPGS and it made me realize I haven't been creating enough speed by bringing the right elbow into the side and "snapping" the hands in the release. Can't wait to give this a go round. Thanks for the tip, Jack.
lunge instead of bump
the Surge swing makes great sense to me and in practice I am making progress. My problem is that I've always been an aggressive swinger, making an aggressive move with my lower body to start the forward swing. I move forward with my entire spine and head which often causes me to hit fat. Any tips on how I can keep my head still? I notice Don moves his hips forward but keeps his head back and has a full release through the ball. I move forward because of an aggressive move. It is causing me not to be able to perform the PPGS. Any help?

Since the body follows the head and shoulders I would focus on keeping your nose at the ball. Keeping your nose at the ball will stop your head from moving and help to keep your body more quiet.

It worked!
I tried Jack's idea first at a practice facility and yesterday at Westover golf course in Massachusetts. Having been in a slump with scores of 98, 91, and 86 after 14 rounds of 84 or lower, this "lie down" concept really helped with my release problems and in playing 36 holes I had three 9's of 39 and 1 of 42 (a hard pan sand shot flew 30 yards over the green and led to a triple bogie). So, thanks for a wild and crazy idea (just kidding), Jack, it was extremely helpful.
Best Tip for Me in a Long Time
Some years ago I almost had to quit due to pain. Your videos and manual saved me from quitting. But I could never quite get the swing feel right until I tried the Jack Moore lying down on my back and swing tip. It forces you to feel the correct swing. Now I do that drill right before I golf and I have been hitting crisper cleaner shots. THANK YOU!
I still have a right turn in my swing (fade to slice) so I haven't got it right yet, but this tip was a big big help for me.
