Winfield Tweedie is a self-described golf nut. He eats, breathes and lives golf. He began learning the Peak Performance Golf Swing in 2010 and hasn't looked back since. Last March, we held a drawing for a free three-day golf school for those Surgites who signed up for an annual Inner Circle membership. Winfield, who hails from Port Townsend, WA, was the lucky winner and he elected to travel all the way to South Carolina to spend three days with me at Old South last week.
Despite having played the game for years, Winfield learned 3-4 really good things during the school that he feels will make a big difference in his game. When you watch today's tip, you'll see that these aren't earth-shattering revelations but are more subtle little things that will save a stroke or two here and there. And that's an important thing for all of us to remember. It's often the minor adjustments we can make that will have as much or more impact on our scoring average than anything else we can do.
Keep it vertical!

I need to thank Don, Lynn and Greg.
ÃÂ
They helped me in Las Vegas with some minor adjustments. Alignment, Posture, Swing Path, Grip.
My game in the last week since coming home has looked great. Shot 82, 82, 81 on the long weekend here in Canada. A couple of my playing partners have commented about my 20+ extra yards off the tee.
ÃÂ
Putting has been somewhat suspect as the greens are freshly aerated.
Although, The new stroke that Jack Moore showed us is fantastic. Thanks Jack!
Short to medium length putts are diving into the hole. Longer putts have been a challenge as I am struggling with smashing them past the hole and 3 putting. More practice is needed, but, I can tell thatÃÂ putting will be a strength next season.
ÃÂ
Spending time with Surge and his team was a wonderful opportunity that I will treasure for years, and my golf game has reaped the rewards of the personal instruction.
ÃÂ
Thanks Guys.

The greens today were a little fuzzy you had to firm them in to hold them on line anything with less speed could end up anywhere.
I kinda found something today with the set up I was getting to bent over and a little to far from the ball. Started standing taller to the ball and started using a practice swing were I did not worry about what the body was doing and just swung the club back slowly to the top and slowly traced the the same path back to the ball and up to a T finish basically on - on and on.
ÃÂ I am going to incorporate this into my preshotÃÂ routine it helps me feel the club and shoulder come down and not out and over.
ÃÂ After the first five holes today I did not have a driver less than 270 and had one out to 300 got good bounce and some roll. After the fifth hole only missed 2 fairways with the driver one way right and one just off the right side.
I have a tournament this Saturday are tour winners against the golf channel tour winners hope to get some practice in this week and play well Saturday.ÃÂ
Hope DJ plays better the rest of the year he is down to around 130 on the money list.
Not sure what his status will be next year if he does not finish in the top 125. ÃÂ
Robert,
Robert,
As you know, I've finally started noticing the effects of the CM8 also. The site you offered does not state quantity of each bottle, but since you say it's a three month supply, I am thinking it is 1 month per bottle which would be 60 pills each at $26.66 per month.
The place where I get mine on line is a 120 pill bottle of the same thing for 18.36 per bottle or less than $10.00 per month even with S/H. I cannot read the bottle ingredients at your site, but mine is the following.
Serving sizeÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ 2 Capsules per day
Servings per bottleÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ 60
Amount per ServingÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ
Cetyl Myristoleate ComplexÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ 1,100mg
Cetyl MyristoleateÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ 220mg
Other ingrediants, Cornstarch, Gelatin, Silica, Water, Magnesium Stearate.
Contains NO, Yeast, Wheat, Milk, Egg, Soy, Glutens, Artificial colors or flavors, added sugar or preservatives.
I am interested to know if they are the same basic capsules, since mine is almost 1/3 the cost of yours per month. Please let me know the ingrediants in the Flexin brand over the Natrol brand I use.ÃÂ
Here is a link to where I purchase mine from.

Hi Dan, glad to hear you are still reaping the benefits of your visit to Las Vegas.
When you traveled down through Arizona were you able to go to Sedona? Sure was cool to meet you along with the other Surgites that made it.
Thanks for Sharing how you have improved as a result.
It sounds like you had an
It sounds like you had an over all good time hitting that little ball on a course from days gone by :)
Terry, Thanks for the follow
Terry, Thanks for the follow up. Mine has 1733 mg CMO per 3 capsul serving which would roughly make them about the same stength and cost with shipping and handling. I pay the flat rate of 26.66 you mentioned because it does not cost me another 10.00 for shipping and handling a beacuse I get the automatic refill program. So basically the costs are a wash (or close anyway).
Sounds like it is the cm-8 (CMO) that is the key ingretient. I've taken glutimine and condrotine and calcium, garlic, tameric, fish oilÃÂ et., et. for years and question how much it has all helped but this ingretient has made the differnce. Whether are fellow bloggers/"old guys and old gals" - and I say that lovingly- take your brand or mine they will also likely find relief if they stick with it. As long as it helps me get out on the golf course more often with less pain I'm all for it. Heck 27.00 a month? I payÃÂ 5 times that much for all the other health remidies/vitamins and motrin I take other wise! Thanks for chiming in. Hopefully others will give this stuff a try and......
PMG with less pain :)
edit;
Just a reminder to any who want to give these products a go, they are natural like vitamins or health food so it may take several weeks before you notice any relief. Be patient and take them every day as recomended and with consistency you will get results. Kind of like our golf swing improvments, gotta stick with the 'program' to see results.

ÃÂ ÃÂ Good to see you back on the site!!ÃÂ Welcome home!
ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ As to golf balls -- I agree the TF Gamer V2 is an excelletn bal -- it is my 3rd choice behind the Bridgestone TreoSoft (now discontinued) :<(((ÃÂ , the Bridgestone e5, e6. Fourth choice is the Wilson 50 (hard to find now)
ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ However, the difference is marginal and others might easily arrange them in a different order.

Winfield had, "all the Don he
Winfield had, "all the Don he could handle". I know excactly what he meant having been able to meet and spent some quality golf learning time with the Surge in Las Vegas. You might never meet a more down to earth, passionate and generous golf nuin your life as Don Trahan. Keep that in mind when the next opportunity arrises to attend a PPGS tournament and or a golf school. He really is completely present with the golf student when he is conducting a school. Those were some reallyÃÂ helpfulÃÂ ÃÂ personal lessons that Win got. The one of how to take the club while holding it up in order to start with the correct back arm position, two, setting the correct loft/shaft lean directly below the sternum, and three, being cautious when grounding our putter(or any other club) as we make sure were not open or closed to the target.
Spending time with Don Trahan on the lesson tee......................."Priceless!!"

ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ I agree completely --- the Las Vegas "outting" was well worth the price!! I hope we can do it again next year!
ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ I was pleasantly surpreised and a little amazed at one aspect of the teaching -- none of the instructos, including Surge said anything to me about the big "A" !!
ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ However, Greg noticed that I was taking the club away too far to the inside at the start of the BUS.ÃÂ Don asked about physical issues with "why can't you get ot your forwardÃÂ foot on the FUS?" and recommended a set-up change.ÃÂ Doc came by a little later with a comment about "left arm dominant" --- so obviously I have some work to do!! LOL
ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ As to golf itselff - -I seem to be in a little scoring slump lately. I think it is mainly due to 3 causes : 1) Speniding most of September away from home - playing different courses in Seattle and Las Vegas and having to adjust to different course and green condintionsÃÂ - with a coresponding re-adjustment when I returned home) trying to apply the "lessons learned" at Vegas -- still a "work in progress" and 3) it is overseeding time here - so the courses tend to play differnt -- like they are longer and slowerÃÂ with less roll in the fairways and "different" greens with different breaks than you would normally read, etc

Yes I did. Its are county owned course that's in our county park. They will only book foursomes on weekend mornings. This why I do not play there. I would agree with that policy if the course did not lose money every year. I guess if you are the head pro and your grandfather donated the property to the county for the park you can do what ever you want and let the tax payers pay for it. It is a nice course if you live in the county you can get a year round pass for 700.00 a year. Does not include the cart.ÃÂ ÃÂ
Robert,
Robert,
Before you buy on line and pay S/H check Wal Mart, I just bought two of the 24packs @ 19.76ea
Thanks for the tip about
Thanks for the tip about using a softer compression golf ball. I bought 2 dozen "Laddies" and have used them the last 3 times I played.
Seems as if I am hitting the "Laddie" longer and straighter than the Titleist ProV1. with the driver as well as short irons. Almost as far as a few years ago.
This seems to be the missing piece for me. Keeping it vertical and using a softer ball. What can I say after I say thank you.
The Gamer V2 is a good ball.
The Gamer V2 is a good ball. I'd probably use it instead of the Pinnacle if they made it in yellow.

Thanks for all of your help!

I too picked up the 24 pack
I too picked up the 24 pack of "Laddies" and experienced exactly the same thing. The cool mornings in Illinois (around 50 when I teed off) really affect the distance. But not with the "Laddie." Amazing! I usually play the Pro V1 but not now. I'll wait til it gets at least 70 before I pull those puppies out again. Yet another great tip from the Surge.
THANK YOU SURGE!

Hey Don, wow I learn
Hey Don, wow I learn something about the putter on this blog, I'm looking for the same type of putter which you had on your video can youÃÂ share withÃÂ us name, model numberÃÂ and style of the putter you use?

EveningÃÂ Surge Nation, Watching Tiger do well the first 7 holes had me remembering his good old days. Was honestly glad see him play decent four 4 days. Still agree that his swing is not yet close to being right but it was cool to see him go on couple nice runs.
Switching subjects I wanted to share something that has helped my aches and pains.ÃÂ Flexcin
http://www.flexcin.com/Affilia...
IÃÂ normally don't promote or recomend products but it was suggested to me right here on this blog about 4 months ago. I've tried nearly everything so I bought a 3 month supply and figured it couldn't hurt and who knows.......
Well because it is natural and not a drug it take at least a month to notice much but sure enough my hands and fingersÃÂ were less stiff and I actually noticed considerablyÃÂ less aches and pains over all.
Some times you don't quite appreciate the value of a suppliment until you run out or stop taking it. It's been about 3 weeks since I ran out and sure enough alot of my morning stiffness and general aches and pains have returned. My lower back and hands have especially been bothering me more lately. The only thing that has changed is I have not taken any Flexcin for 3 weeks. Go figure. I have re ordered a new supply. I think it's reasonably priced. Anyhow I don't want to sound like an advertisment, just wanted to share that it may be something to consider if you are searching for relief. I'll apologize ahead of time if this non golf subject bothers anyone.
Now back to golf........

Delightful video and happy to see Mr. Tweedie enjoyed his class ( & time ) with Surge & Greg.
The points he emphasized are important to us all. Congratulations on winning the school and continued success with the PPGS.
Good luck in your tournament
Good luck in your tournament this weekend. Maybe you'll finish up your tournament season on a high note.
I don't know a lot about any of the things that count toward exempt status other than the top 125.
Too many rules for me to keep track of on exemptions and limited status.
Then their are special rules for exemptions for the firstÃÂ round or two of Q-School.

You are not boring anyone pal.ÃÂ I think we all enjoy hearing about everyone's rounds.ÃÂ You are right on target with your reminder to keep thinking about the little things that make this swing work right.ÃÂ That is why Surge keeps going over the basics again and again.ÃÂ If we are doing something big wrong, it is probably easy to see it and correct it.ÃÂ It is the little stuff that hurts us and is hard to figure out.
Thanks for the after action report.ÃÂ Keep them coming.

Thanks to the Surge Swing, Doc,s driver, and the putting secrets video, I broke 90 for the second consecutive time.ÃÂ Putting was simply awesome!ÃÂ (27 putts today) Hope I can keep it up and didn't jinx myself by posting this.

After chatting with Doc about balls, I had my own little play off between several balls.ÃÂ I ended up falling in love with the TF Gammer V2.ÃÂ They work great for me under all conditions.ÃÂ Don't know if any of you guys have tried them, but you should at least give them a look.

After seeing Surge's video
After seeing Surge's video about choosing the right ball, I searched all my balls and pulled out all the 'softer' balls I had in my shoe box. I went online and found all the brands that make a softer compression. I agree, as the weather gets cooler here in Canada on the west coast, the softer compression makes a difference. FYI, the Titliest ProV1x is a softer compression then the ProV1. Interesting!

Hello fellow Surgites! Update
Hello fellow Surgites! Update... PPGS year 2. Thanks again Surge for all the great tips. Amazing how great your timing can be spot on. Having a great second year with this swing built for a lifetime of fun golf. Set a goal last winter to take 5 strokes off my HI. Started the year with a 23.7 and I am now at 16.9 and still going down with the next update. 2011 Goal accomplished. Been forgetting about the bump and just letting it happen. Using the correct firm grip and it helps me keep my wrists flat and palms perpendicular. Always working on the big "A". Got my left shoulder closed and fixed my right arm being higher then my left at setup and I'm not so over the top. Wow go figure! I also like to have my last thought before BUS to be "Finish". Short game is working wonders but I've been struggling with the putter. The shot shaping and course videos I bought were terrific! I guess that means it's time to buy the putting videos. :)ÃÂ Great to see Dick is back with everyone else still on the blog!ÃÂ ÃÂ F & G!ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ Jim

Hope school is going great for you.ÃÂ I am so glad you are getting to live your dream, and that you had the nads to take that leap.ÃÂ Most folks wouldn't do that.
I still love the ball you turned me on to.ÃÂ There are just not enough people playing them for me to find many of them on the course.ÃÂ The head pro bought a truck load of them and put them on sale for $ 11 a dozen and they all sold very quickly.ÃÂ I should be able to start finding some of them now.
Keep learning pal, we need you out there teaching the good stuff,
Dick
Weekend round report.
Weekend round report.
Saturday played a course I have not played in 20 yrs its a nice course. Shot 84 we played the backside first which is the hardest nine the rough was 4-5 inches and it was very wet from the dew. Kinda struggled all day but happy with the score.
Today my buddy and I played our home course today the first 5 holes I struggled 5 over at this point. I was 10 - 15 yards short with every club in the bag I was coming over the top getting in the SBG in the BUS.
ÃÂ I told my buddy that I have had it this was going to be the last round this year.
The next hole I got back on track swinging on - on - on and finished the front nine birdie par, par, par for a 4 over 39,
The back nine I had 3 bogies 1 birdie and the rest pars for a 2 over 37 and I left 2 birdies on the back nine1 lip out from 5 feet and 1 from 4 feet stopped 1/4" from going in. It was kinda hard controlling the puts today they aerated the greens earlier this week.
I guess we live to play another weekend .
Its good getting Dick back on the blogÃÂ but now Steve has been MIA the last couple of days.
Thanks Steve
Thanks Steve
I looked at it a couple of days ago. I think he will have status next year it is kinda confusing looking at all the exemptions.
The tournament I am just going to go into it as just another fun round with my buddies let the chips fall were they will.

Hello Dick,
Hello Dick,
I'm glad to hear that you still like the gamer V2.ÃÂ Guys at school think I'm nuts playing them, but I've noticed that a couple of them have started using them since I started touting them.ÃÂ I actually found a deal on them online.ÃÂ Six dozen balls for 60 bucks.ÃÂ I figure I should have enough to last for a week or two. LOL

Hi Don,
Just wondering if Tiger is aware of you and your methods? I'd really like to see him try the Surge swing and perhaps lengthen his golf life to enable him to fulfill his potential to be the greatest of all time.

Not MIA, just busy. Ha ha!
Not MIA, just busy. Ha ha!
It's pretty hard to score when the greens are aerated. Then it almost gets down to being lucky on the putts instead of being good.
Our greens were about that way this week also. Ron let them grow out to protect them from the winter since they are new, so they were so slow and with enough grain that there wasn't much skill involved in whether they went in or not.
Didn't win anything Saturday. I thought my team had the scramble part won but Ron got a hole in one on number 6 and that did us in.
He "cheated" and played in the pro-am on the Nationwide Tour this week and that gave him some extra practice. Ha ha!
P.S. For some reason I waited until my round was over and we were in the scramble to hit any really good drives. I had the longest and starightest hitter that I know on my team and either he is slacking off or I'm getting a little longer because we used my tee shots several times.
