I recently posted a video that implemented a new practice drill for putting that involved a pencil. Today, I want to show you how to find the sweet spot on your putter so that you can use this new drill effectively.
Most putters have some sort of line drawn on them to signify where you should be coming into contact with the ball at impact. This is supposed to be the sweet spot of the putter. Today's putters are typically more accurate with the placement of these lines than older putters, but that doesn't mean that the older putters are obsolete. You simply have to find the sweet spot.
You'll see in the video that the sweet spot is found by tapping on the face of the putter until it swings back and forth like a pendulum. Remember this trick and you'll start making a lot more putts.
Keep it vertical,
The Surge!

I would not consider myself a regular poster and I am by no means a expert on this swing but I am a user of it and will not change back to rotational. I also have to admit I am not a great player maybe just average. I do not consider any body really bad players just some people maybe more advanced than others and I will play golf with anyone I could care less what there score is. I just enjoy playing golf PAIN FREE and meeting different people out on the course.
Don, et. al,
Don, et. al,
Has anyone on the Blog used "Face on" or "Side Saddle" putting.ÃÂ I reciently switched to a Long shaft putter and using a Face On style.ÃÂ Very radical way to put, but it has helped me cut stokes.ÃÂ Just wandering Dons thoughts on this very different way to put.

M, hope that "YES" putter
M, hope that "YES" putter works well for you. It is one of my six putters. As is often the case my affair with it only lasted a few months. It is a great putter though and the half moon lines on the face may help you. If it fills good and you start dropping putts it will all be fine. Good luck.
BTW, if it runs left it is iether your stroke (which a pull left sometimes is an indication you are "peaking"- looking up to soon and pulling it as aresult) or it may be too upright and need a lie adjustment.AEven a slight toe up can lead to left running putt.ÃÂ This can beÃÂ adjusted cheaply at any Golf Galaxy orÃÂ by a local fitter. Lie can make a big difference in direction.
Bed time for me. Say good
Bed time for me. Say good night Dick, and come back to the blog soon.ÃÂ Good night and best wishes Dick.
Is dj having a bad year or is
Is dj having a bad year or is golf really tough no matter how much natural talent you have?
I follow Don's instruction and agree with some of it, especially stabilizing the legs to stop swaying off the ball. But for some reason dj can't bust through and establish himself as a player and all the regular posters really are fairly bad players even though they seem to know Don's system inside wand out.
Saturday Round Report
Saturday Round Report
I played my home course today 6100 yards and shot 5 over 75 38 - 37. I hit 11 FW's
10 greens and 32 putts the greens were slower than usual again and the rough was brutal and the fairways had a lot of non grass areas seems like I was in the spots all day. I just cannot get to that even par round yet.Oh well tomorrow is another day.
I could think of nothing that
I could think of nothing that I would like more, my friend and I also noticed I was included in your foursome on the last blog, much appreciated. Perhaps if our fall schedule goes nicely enough I can make it out to Vegas before summer. Matt (now the middle son) & I are due to come out that way to Frontsite when our joint schedules permit.
I haven't ever tried that but
I haven't ever tried that but there is a guy that occasionally plays in our group that does it and is a pretty good putter, so I would sure give it a try if something ever happened to where my normal putting stroke wasn't working.
P.S. I thought I had clicked on the wrong site this morning when the new color scheme popped up.
Edit: When I clicked on the link to expand your profile it seems I found the source of the fashion comment that got T Medley thinking more about red dresses than golf. LOL
