Here at Swing Surgeon Golf, our full length videos are by far the best way to learn the Peak Performance Golf Swing. But, my short video tips that I publish throughout the week on this interactive blog provide a ton of useful information as well.
A few years ago, I conducted a golf school unlike the ones I typically host across the globe. The big difference? The average age of the attendees.
The bump is one of the secrets to creating power and distance with the Peak Performance Golf Swing. Yet, a lot of golfers I work with in private lessons and golf schools don't quite grasp the correct motion of the club while transitioning with the bump.
If you've ever had problems understanding or executing the "bump", today's video is going to help. Proper weight transfer and releasing the club to impact is very important in golf. If your arms aren't straight at impact, there could be an issue with your bump.
You may have already received some notifications about my upcoming golf schools, but I just wanted to talk a little bit about my upcoming schedule.
Boy it's good to be back! As you may or may not have known, I've been unable to play golf for the last few months due to my recovery from heart surgery.
I've managed to publish some daily video tips from my archives in the interim, but I just wanted to let you know that I'm back for real... more
Earlier in the week, I talked about one of our most popular full length videos, "Working the Ball". Today, I'm going to talk about its must-have companion, "Situational Shots: On the Course".
I know you've faced it. A tough dog leg left with out of bounds on the right. It's holes like this that make you wish you could hit a draw. Well, you can hit a draw and it's not as hard as you think.
One of the great things about a vertical golf swing is that it allows you to maintain equal pressure in each hand throughout the entirety of the swing. That's because your arms and hands go straight up and straight down...or at least they should!
The setup determines the motion. I've said that for years, and it's absolutely true. But, the takeaway determines the backswing, so it's important to understand exactly how to start your swing once you're ready to pull the trigger. By now, you should know that you need to take the club back toe... more
I hope all my fellow Americans are having a wonderful 4th of July weekend and I hope the rest of you are enjoying some fantastic weather (and perhaps a little World Cup action). Maybe some of you were even lucky enough to sneak away for 18 holes!
Great shots comes from the club being on, on, on, square and solid at impact through to a proper release. Without a good release, you can't hit a relatively straight shot.
Don is on the road to recovery and he wanted to make sure that everyone knows he appreciates all the kind words and prayers that he has received. It's truly amazing to see the bond that exists in the Surge Nation. Not surprisingly, Don is still passionate about helping you improve your game and... more
Today I'm going to discuss the relationship between your dominant eye and your alignment. Your dominant eye is the eye that you get your maximum focus with. For a lot of people, it's the same side as their dominant hand. That means most right handed golfers focus best with their right eye.
The Golf Channel recently aired a documentary about Mr. Arnold Palmer, one of the greatest golfers of all time. It aired after the 2014 Masters tournament, so I hope that many in the Surge Nation were able to catch it.
It's that time of year again! The azaleas are in bloom at Augusta, which means the week of The Masters Tournament is finally here. For many fans, this is the most exciting time of the golf season. However, The 2014 Masters Tournament will be without golf's number one superstar Tiger Woods for... more
Today, I'm going to review two superb golf books that I recommend everyone should read. What's really cool about the two authors is that they're both dedicated Surgites!
If you've been a follower of the Peak Performance Golf Swing for any length of time, you should know that I'm a PGA Master Professional.
I went to work with DJ while he was going through the Web.com finals trying to secure his PGA TOUR card for next year. It was another great year of ball striking for DJ, he just had some trouble on the greens with the flat stick. I thought I'd take time and review what we've been working on for... more
I'm sure most of you have been enjoying the Presidents Cup this weekend. There have been some amazing shots during team play, but today is all about singles competition. If the Ryder Cup last year was any indication of how the day will unfold, it's sure to be a very intense Sunday at Muirfield... more
Ricky Potts is the Google+ Golf Community Moderator and hosts "Friday Foursome" which features important people in the game of golf. Today, Don was featured on the hangout session and stole the show! Here's what Ricky had to say following the show:
Have you ever wanted to build your own backyard driving range? Well, today I'm going to discuss how I went about constructing my own and where you can find the right materials to do it yourself.
Today I want to discuss the relationship between timing and tempo. Some golfers may confuse one with the other, but in actuality, they must work as a team.
