setup determines the motion
A message arrived from a student asking about getting "cocky" with your swing when things are going well. He asks:
"You started to caution me not to get cocky now that I am hitting the ball solidly. You never finished your thoughts on that and I am interested in what you have to say"
The routine you have for lining up your target and walking into your setup is extremely critical for an accurate position over the golf ball. If you want to have any sort of consistency with your swing, you first need to start with a proper setup.
Having correct posture is very important if you want to be a consistent golfer. It's just as important as any other element of the PPGS Master Setup position.
I've been known to have a lot of "Surgisms" (as I like to call them). I believe that having these sayings helps students remember the important aspects and movements of the Peak Performance Golf Swing.
From the beginning of your swing to the moment you recoil and relax, your balance should never waver. If you maintain this dynamic balance throughout your swing, there is a good chance you probably just hit a good shot.
The key to having perfect posture is being in an athletically ready position with actively engaged muscles. The setup determines the motion, so your setup better be perfect!
