Don and Doc Try Playing with Rental Clubs

Fri, 08/07/2015 - 13:00 -- Don Trahan

My son, DJ is playing at the PGA TOUR event in Reno, Nevada this week (you can track his scores here), while Doc and I are conducting a golf school and fitting sessions. It's great when my golf schools are in the same area as DJ's tournament, so this is a special week for me!

Doc and I even showed up a day early so we could go play some golf together, since after all the years of us working together, we've never played a full round together. The only bad part is we had to rent golf clubs. Let's just say it was an interesting experiment and one that totally confirms everything Doc and I have been telling you for years.

Playing with golf clubs that aren't custom built for your swing and body is pointless! Yes, you may be able to hit a few good shots here and there, but when you have custom built clubs, your margin of error decreases significantly while your consistency improves dramatically.

Please folks, if you haven't already, contact a PPGS Certified Fitter. It's never too late to start playing golf the right way.

Keept it vertical!

I couldn't agree more with this. I knew that the clubs that Doc made for me were working better but the message was driven home when I broke my 6 iron. I have been using my old 6 as a temporary replacement with very mixed results. Some shots with it are good but the consistency just isn't there.

Was hoping we might have seen Doc in action. Have never seen him swing a club before.
I picked up a forged pitching wedge recently, to try out. It has very little offset compared to the irons I play. I can hit the PW straight every time, so have put it in the bag. Just goes to show what a difference just one change can make to the suitability of a club. Also goes to show I need a new set of irons

He has a very fluid swing and smooth as silk. I saw his tee shot at the 15th hole at The Links at Stoney Point. I am still hoping The Surge and Doc will come by and play a round here with Me one of these days. As bad as my game is, it is sure better with The PPGS and Doc built clubs. Hope y'all have lots of fun.

Doc you need to put a mic on your shirt. Your voice range is so low that I cannot hear nor understand what you are saying. It is this way in every video you are in. I gotten to the point that I do not watch your videos. You were just in a video with Surge, I could hear and understand Surge and have no clue what Doc said. Please help me be able to hear Doc, I am sure I can use his advise. David Fruits

No matter what it was, ADHOC ?, I could not hear Doc and could hear Surge just fine. All of Doc's videos I can not make out what he is saying. He needs to speak up or sound recording has to improve. I would love to hear what Doc has to say. Dave

Brady, you obviously are not getting the point, I do not want excuses for Doc , I want a solution to the problem. All of Doc's videos I can not hear or understand. You need to get a microphone next to him or try sign language. :) As of now, there is no need for me to watch Doc's videos because I do not know what he is saying.

Thank you all for this video. I could hear and understand Doc well. Thank you again, this is a good video with Doc. I would have liked to go to Doc's fitting in Saugatuck but I am having stem cell regeneration therapy on Sept. 8th. This will end my golfing for 4 weeks. Thanks for taking the time to listen to me and making improvements. David Fruits
