Doc Griffin
Many have asked about one-length irons with rising PGA Star Bryson DeChambeau having a very successful pro debut on the PGA tour in 2016. Not to mention one heck of a showing at this year's Masters.
Today I'm going to provide you with a drill that I think makes the concept of the bump much easier to grasp. One of the biggest issues I see with regards to the transition is that golfers either don't bump at all or they're bumping way too much.
Today I'll continue with my series on DJ's most recent trip to see my good friend and PPGS Director of Club Fitting, Doc Griffin. After DJ loved the results he was getting with his new driver, Doc built some fairway woods to go with it. We later played 36 holes together and I don't think I saw... more
Today, I'll discuss my son DJ's recent club fitting session with Doc Griffin. We spent a lot of time working through every club in the bag, but Doc was able to provide some really interesting information about DJ's driver in particular.
My son DJ and I recently went to see Doc Griffin for a club fitting session. Over the next week or so, I'll be sharing details from DJ's club fitting, which included working on the driver, fairway woods, and irons.
My son, DJ is playing at the PGA TOUR event in Reno, Nevada this week (you can track his scores here), while Doc and I are conducting a golf school and fitting sessions.
Doc Griffin is back with a house call to discuss who should get fit for golf clubs and when. One argument that Doc hears a lot relates to golfers that would rather wait to get fit for a custom set of golf clubs until after they improve their game.
You may have already received some notifications about my upcoming golf schools, but I just wanted to talk a little bit about my upcoming schedule.
I think it's finally safe to say that Old Man Winter has gone on vacation. With warmer temperatures now available to most Surgites, many of you will start getting into your regularly scheduled round (or rounds) of golf each week. But, are you happy with your golf clubs?
As The Masters quickly approaches, the unofficial start of the 2014 golf season is upon many of you. That means getting the clubs out of the basement or garage, dusting them off, and hitting the practice range.
Doc Griffin is back today and he's here to call out many golf club lies that have been in place for too many years. Golf club manufacturers are in the business of building clubs for one reason...making money. That means they don't really care how good your game is, just as long as you're... more
I always get asked where we're heading next for Peak Performance Golf Schools and Club Fittings. Last year was a great year, and we'd like to have an even better 2014. Doc Griffin and I sat down to talk about where we'd like to travel this year, so today, he's going to share our discussions with... more
Thanksgiving marked the beginning of the holiday season, which means the end of the year is quickly approaching. This year has certainly gone fast and soon enough, another golf season will be upon us!

I can usually offer a pretty solid answer when it comes to basic club fitting, but Doc is the true expert, which is why I brought him in to... more
The driver is typically the hardest club to hit in the bag, especially with any sort of consistency. If you tend to hit your drives to the right with a slice, today's video could be exactly what your game needs.
Have you ever wondered what a new set of custom fit golf clubs could do for your game? Are you curious about the process our certified fitters put you through in order to determine the right clubs you need? Well, good fittings take time and there's a lot of measurements and analysis that takes... more
Today, Doc Griffin is going to give us all a lesson on kickpoint. Different shafts and the speed in which a player swings the club correlate to kickpoint. If you're swinging a club that's not fit exactly for you, kickpoint is one aspect of your clubs that will most likely be way off.
Ever since graphite was introduced into the game of golf, men and women have had to decide on whether to use steel shafts or graphite shafts. If you're not sure how to determine which to use, it can get a bit overwhelming when shopping for new clubs.
I'm in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina today attending a PGA of America-Carolinas section business meeting so I thought we would let Doc Griffin have another go at today's daily since he did such a great job on the last blog posting.
We recently got a question in from a student who wanted to learn more about the meaning of lie angle and the overall importance of it. He asked a local pro if he could give some tips, but the pro told him that he first needed to change his swing to a flatter plane with more rotation before he... more
Okay Surgites, it's time again for the Doctor's House Call. I brought in Doc Griffin today to discuss the role of tempo in your golf swing. I handed off an email I got from Dick Anderwald, who was given some advice on the importance and structure of tempo in a golf swing.
For today's video, I called upon our director of club fitting operations, Doc Griffin. We had a question sent in from a Surgite named Ron. He claims that he is hitting all his clubs great, except his 5 wood.
