Message to All and an Announcement

Sun, 06/15/2014 - 08:33 -- Don Trahan

The Surge has a special message for everyone today.  This message is for all the Surgites, followers, and readers of the website.  This is a message about your health and to not disregarding what may seem as a trivial problem.

Previously in the past week, Don got some untimely news that he must undergo open-heart surgery for the second time in his life. The news comes only four years after his last surgery which you may know about if you are a long time follower.  Don explains the issues in his video.  The Surge will be on medical restrictions for several months following the surgery.  Due to that we will be pulling videos from our archives while he is on the mend.

If you would like to send well wishes to Don please do so by leaving comments here on the blog and they will be sent to Don directly or emailing us at support@swingsurgeon.com.

Dear Don,

All the best of luck. Here's to a speedy recovery.

I am new to the Swing Surgeon family, but a family it is. I have learned so much from you already, and know I will learn much more. Everyone is very friendly and helpful.

God Bless

Steve

Disclaimer; I am only sharing information and am not a doctor. Any use of ideas for health need to be ones personal decision.
However having had two parents both die suffering terribly from cancer I am among the thousands out there who are open minded to natural cures instead of radiation and typical chemotherapy.
The following is simply a well meaning message and an option for those who are (or will) suffer cancer.

That said, for those of you who watched Doc and Surges telecast on line yesterday may have heard Doc's words of how bicarbonate (baking soda) and maple syrup helped bring Lynn's wife from 4th stage lung cancer to now near complete cure and health. I am among those who firmly believe in natural cures wherever possible. I will leave you all with an article that explains the why and hows of bicarbonate and maple syrup and curing cancer through raising the bodies PH and safely halting reversing and killing cancer cells.

http://www.alkalizeforhealth.net/Lbakingsoda.htm

Many of you will appreciate this info and others will think Baking Soda for a cure is BS. That's okay either way. To each his own. No one needs to feel pushed in any way. This is by no means the only natural cure for cancer. There are several others. The information is available for those looking for an alternative. Positive results should be the only thing that matters. The interesting thing to me is that if you read the above article it indicates that this cure and recipe can work in tandem with all other natural cures.

Don has been in surgery for approximately three hours. We receive an update at the two hour mark and everything is looking good so far, no issues or problems. We will get another update around the four hour mark. I'll post an update after we receive it. We are also putting updates on Facebook and Google Plus as well.

Positive thoughts and prayers for you and your family. You have so much to live for and that strength will carry you through this and the recovery, I am positive about that! I'm sure you'll hear it many times but LISTEN TO THE DOCTORS AND DON'T RUSH THE RECOVERY, PLEASE! As one of the worst patients on record after my knee replacement, I know whereof I speak so please don't learn that particular lesson the hard way!

One of the surgeons came out to say that everything is going as planned and are currently on schedule to finish. The surgery was scheduled for five hours.

Wishing you a speedy and complete recovery. I have watched so many videos these last 3 years that you seem like one of my close friends. Come to think of it. You are! We're about the same age. I play golf almost everyday now in the summer and your advice and tips have allowed me to do it nearly pain free. I feel like you're right with me on the course. I really can't thank you enough for that. Hopefully I'll get to thank you in person one of these days. Get well, my man, and God bless.

Don came off the ventilation tube last night at midnight. They have him on oxygen. He is awake talking and drinking. He's not complaining of any pain or problems. The nurse called us this morning and said that overall he did very well last night and there were no problems. Don apparently has been talking a lot and already made friends in the ICU! They did say his blood count is a little low so the surgeon will more than likely put in a blood order. The surgeon should be doing his neuro exam any moment now and we'll update everyone after that. Thank you everyone for all the prayers and positive vibes...they can be felt and are working miracles!

Surge, Here is wishing you a speedy, complete recovery. I was delighted to see the post-op pictures on facebook, you looked good my friend. Continued thoughts and prayers.
On another note as to what Surge alluded to in his address, FAST is the acronym that he was referring to about strokes. I taught it for a dozen years in the First Aid/Red Cross segment of Apprenticeship classes. F is for face, look for any drooping of the mouth or eye lids. A is for arms, have the person try to raise both arms at the same time, one should lag significantly.
S is for speech, have the person try to say a simple sentence, their speech will probably be slurred.T is for time, this is important to note for the first responders, emt dispatchers and on to the hospital. That way, the medical can have a better understanding on the length of the stroke as to when you first noticed the symptoms.
Again,Surge, continued success on the road back!!!

Don,
we were shocked by the announcement of your cardiovascular problems, with the vision of Malcolm on the stretcher fresh in our memories but very much relieved that surgery went well and as it seems you are recovering reasonably well. But as said by other surgites take your time and listen to your body. From Holland and Belgium we wish you all the best and hope to see you as soon as possible and healthy again. Give our regards also to your wife and family.

Don has been up and walking a lot and did 5 laps around the ICU. The surgeon gave the OK to have all the tubes removed and his arterial IV. He's going to be transferred out of ICU today and will be on a regular floor of the hospital for a few days.
