There was a comment posted on the blog recently that talked about the importance of having clubs that are right for each individual's swing. This could not be more accurate.
Phil said he found that getting a lower end model off the rack actually matched up to his swing better than a high end golf club. It's all based on each person's abilities when swinging a golf club. Some people have faster clubhead speed while others have a more moderate swing speed. So it is crucial to get fitted for what is best for you.
Make sure that when you go to a certified fitter, he or she is the one that actually makes the clubs for you. Often times, someone will get fitted for clubs but then the measurements get shipped off and you end up getting clubs that were already built. This is not the correct way for a fitter to operate. You should only pay for your clubs after the fitter has built them and taken you to the range, where you can really see if the clubs are right for you.
Keep it vertical,
The Surge!

Also check the SOWF (Special Operations Warrior Foundation) site. There's a link there I recall to the charity David Feherty is involved with that provides golf instruction to wounded veterans and also to other stuff. I worked with a friend here in Vegas for a number of years organizing a benefit for SOWF. Great group of folks that work to help the children and families of special ops soldiers killed or disabled in the line of duty.

As to: "WK, Bla, Bla, Bla, I didn't know your middle name was Rambo, probably should be Shambo. "
One reason beyond curiosity to get over the war zone was because in Thailand in the USAF we were not considered part of the war zone. When I was commissioned as a 2Lt out of Medina at Lackland my pay was $303.90. This was below the official poverty line at that time. Back then if you are in a war zone any day of the month you don't pay taxes on your wages for that month. So when I tool my one week off I went commercial from Bangkok to Hong Kong at the end of one month and came back in the next month. Coming and going into Thailand we also crossed over N Vietnam is memory serves ... or at least S Vietnam.
During the entire Vietnam war era we never had a case like when the Russians shot down U.S. congressman, Rep. Lawrence McDonald of Georgia traveling on flight 007.
One thing I did at Travis was to learn to count cards vis Thorpe's Beat the Dealer. I won a buddy from school (Southport HS) close to $100,000. My immediate supervisor at Travis was a major and his mom taught me English as a junior at Southport so it is indeed a small world after all.
My fitter would be relieved by John d' Acquisto in HS and John did motion analysis for Surge to prove the PPGS swing is a valid swing theory. My first meeting with John was in La Jolla when he worked for Gideon Ariel ... way before his troubles with the law.
I may have been the sole person who backed Surge for using John's analysis. The howling mob was all over Surge on that one when the focus should have been on the science that John presented about the PPGS swing.

Coincidence?? I think not as they have played off each other from square one. I just click my internal ignore button when I see the name.
I haven't been able to get back out with the new driver, but I have noticed something just swinging it in the back yard. I feel like I've increased my clubhead speed using less effort than I used with my old driver. Is that possible or just wishful thinking on my part? It just feels easier to get through to a T finish.

Unlike the rest of the guys on the blog, I have very strong intuition

Harry,
Harry,
One thing I have done to get used to the feel of a flat left wrist is to put a wrist brace on (I have several due repetitive non-repetitive injuries - I'm a klutz!) and practice Surge's perpendicular palms drill for several minutes. This gets it into my mind. Then, I take the brace off and do the drill again for several more minutes. I find that I can remember this feeling all the way through a round of golf if I practice this twice per week now. I was doing it every day. I really like doing it the night before I play so that it is stuck in my mind all night long.
If you don't have a brace, but do have the components of Dick's toolkit, get an 8-10" piece of 1x3 wood and duct tape it to the back of your left wrist - just watch out for splinters and yanking out arm hairs when you take it off ;-D
Kevin

I know that my ambition probably wont be fulfilled for a couple of years, but I intend to pursue the subject with other veterans enrolled in my class. In fact, the valadictorian of a recent graduating class is a disabled vet.
